Rylee's B-day

We were going to have a big tea party for Rylee's 5th birthday, and I had it all planned out in my head and was so excited about having little girls come to the party, welll I must of sent the evites out a little early because only one little girl got to come. So I didnt go all out on the party. But we still had a great time!

Here are the cupcakes I whipped up for her to take to daycare.

and I attempted my first cake, ever. It was a learning experience, I needed to use a dense cake, but Rylee loved it and that is all that matters , right?

and here are some of the little treats I made.. Pink and Purple chocolate strawberries, and then I decided to make my own version of Edible Arrangements, again this was my first on this and I will do much better next time!

Chocolate Chip Weekend....

So it has been awhile since I posted. The summer is almost to an end. I have had a few gigs, but would love to do more!

I had a request from my sister in law, who is 12. For her 12th bday she wanted cupcakes designed around her drawing. These stressed me out so much, for one because they were for family and I wanted to make sure they were exactly what she wanted.

Here is the drawing, it is a sun with a heart in the middle.

So they had also requested confetti cake... These turned out really good.

And here is the final cupcake... I was disappointed in them, but they were happy with them..

So with that same batch I also made some chocolate chip cupcakes with vanilla buttercream, I didnt get pics of them frosted but let me tell you, these were so so so good...

That same weekend I made some Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins.  I was in the mood for chocolate chips that weekend.. And I got my fix.. These were so good.

Strawberry and Buttermilk Pancake Breakfast.

I had some buttermilk in the fridge that was about to go bad,so I whipped up some pancakes. These are super easy and so yummy. The buttermilk smells a little bad though, wasnt sure I was gonna be able to use it. It calls for a quart of it.

Well they did turn out.

I cut up some strawberries, drizzled Strawberry syrup on them, as I cant stand Maple syrup so I have to keep fruit syrup in the house.  Then topped off with whipped cream. It was so good! I had a very happy family that day. I guess I should make breakfast everyday.

Here is the recipe for you. I got this one from Tasty Kitchen:

3 cups Flour

1 teaspoon Baking Soda

1 teaspoon Baking Powder

1 teaspoon Salt

1 teaspoon Sugar

3 whole Eggs

2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil

1 quart Buttermilk

Preparation Instructions
Mix all ingredients together well. Add whatever extras (blueberries, bananas, whatever sounds good) at this point.
Heat up your pancake skillet on medium heat. Pour pancake sized amounts of the batter onto your hot skillet and cook until done (flipping once the bottom is done – you know – like you normally cook pancakes).

Doughnut Muffins!

So I made these back in April. I was watching Foodnetwork and saw these. They looked so delicious. So I thought I would try and make them, and I was right, they are delicious. They have a nice crunchy outside and super moist nutmegy inside. Nutmegy is a word!!

Then a few weeks ago it was my brothers birthday and he was going on and on about how good the pictures looked, so I whipped up a batch for him, but a "batch" is like 48 frickin muffins!!

If you would like to take a dozen into your office, and be the most popular person that day, call me and we can discuss it. These would also be great to have at a brunch, baby shower, or just to get some for your family. They are super yummy!!

Bunco!!

I was invited to a Bunco party, and once I knew what Bunco was, I got the great idea to make cupcakes...

I started with fondant to make dice...

Then I cheated on the cupcakes, I used  a box ! I ran out of time after making the dice, but I did make the Strawberry Buttercream.
And Ta Da I had cute cupcakes to take to the party. They were chocolate cake with strawberry buttercream. I think they came out very cute!! and the party was a blast. Thanks Jody.
